The parameter model
When determining the ePOS parameters, it is generally possible to define either simple parameters, parameter fields, or parameter groups. Before using parameter groups, they must be first declared as lists of parameters.
The parameter table GLOBALcontains parameters which are used universally. These parameters are recognized in every decision table. Parameters which were defined in a group or a compound and were specified as Global are also generally valid, however only after the respective parameter table has been evaluated. This happens automatically before the first call of any decision table in the compound or group, or when the starting compound is loaded by the program being executed.
Local parameters that were specified in the parameter table of the group are valid for all decision tables in all compounds in the group. Local parameters that were specified in the parameter table of the compound are valid for all decision tables in the compound. Another option is to declare parameters within a decision table. These are only valid within this decision table, and are newly determined for each call of the decision table.

As can be seen in the figure, parameter tables can be associated with the parameter groups from the following groups:
