Deleting Rules, Conditions and Actions

Deleting rules, conditions and actions is done in the following steps:

  • Mark the row or column you want to delete by left clicking the corresponding header i.e., the gray field which contains for example "BO2", "AO5" or "RO1". The corresponding row/column will then be highlighted in color.

  • Open the context menu by right clicking while the mouse is in the corresponding heading (gray area).

  • Select "delete row" or "delete column".

If you want to delete several rows/columns at the same time, just mark those rows/columns you would like to delete and select the context menu.

Note: Marking several rows/columns is done by moving mouse over several rows/columns with pressed left mouse button.

You cannot delete the latest condition, the latest action and ELSE- rule because

  • without an action the decision table makes no sense.

  • a condition is required in order to use the editor. If you do not require a condition in the DT, just leave the condition part blank. In that case the first rule is always satisfied.

  • the ELSE- rule is indelible because it is meant to be a reminder to think about the conditions under which this rule is satisfied.
