Overview of functions


General (overview of functions by group)

The names of the functions in German are also given in brackets.

Both the English and German function names can be used.

The ePOS functions are divided into the following areas:

String functions

Text length, text search, text comparisons etc.

Mathematical functions

Trigonometric functions, rounding, exponents etc.

Data type conversion

Convert string <-> number

Dialog functions

Screen input/output functions

NoVal/Undef functions

Setting and verification of NoVal/Undef functions

Parameter group functions

Copying, initialising etc. of parameter groups

Sequence control

Starting, ending and opening a logic

Linked functions

Open other applications, e.g. text editor

Environment functions

Reading/setting environment settings

Watch functions

Checking and testing ePOS logic

Input/output of formatted ASCII files, deleting files

The following general rules apply to all ePOS functions:

  • Function calls can be nested as desired.

  • A constant, parameter, or formula of the appropriate data type can be used for every argument.

  • A function’s return parameters must always be assigned.

All function names are available in English and German. These names are displayed in the relevant function description heading. The language can be changed during operation in the Input Assistant, though the language of the function calls used in the decision tables will stay in place.
